This Gallery contains maps and geospatial data pertaining to
cultural resources. There are numerous
categories of cultural resources including archeological resources, cultural
landscapes, traditional uses, traditional cultural places, and historic and
prehistoric structures. All of these
cultural resource categories can serve to inform us about human and natural
environment interactions across a larger landscape.
The SRLCC has established a cultural resources focus group
to identify priority cultural resource issues for the SRLCC and to develop a
strategy and framework for addressing the identified priority needs. Several “traditional use” plant and animal
species have been identified by Tribal representatives on the Steering
Committee (e.g., cottonwood, willow, mule deer, fish, pine nuts, and golden
eagle). These serve to provide an
initial starting point for the focus group in identifying priority issues/
projects for the SR LCC to address. If
